Perpetrator/victim research

A central concern of the Nazi Documentation Centre in the MARCHIVUM is the remembrance of Mannheim's victims of National Socialism. The basis for this is the knowledge gained from the research and memorial work of the MARCHIVUM, the Sandhofen Concentration Camp Memorial and other groups and institutions that have made it their task to come to terms with National Socialist injustice.

But Mannheim's perpetrators are also to be brought into view. Their biographies illustrate who carried and shaped the National Socialist rule locally.

Based on the research conducted to date, the MARCHIVUM is building a database on the victims and perpetrators of the Nazi era. It will gradually be made available to the public. Visitors will have the opportunity to trace the lives of victims and perpetrators and to supplement them with their own findings and research.
