Stocks

One of the classic tasks of an archive is to collect and preserve the records of the city administration. In addition, records and documents of various origins relevant to the history of the city are collected. The MARCHIVUM, as the successor to the Mannheim City Archive - Institute for Urban History, has a stock that fills more than 16 kilometres. The index of the inventory ("inventory overview") is available as an electronic finding aid. It can be viewed via the FindStar² database. Our collection comprises the following:

  • Official Books
  • AV Collection
  • Public Authority Collections
  • Library
  • Images
  • Digital Printed Matter
  • Documentation
  • Map/Plan Collection
  • Small Acquisitions
  • Coins, Medals, Orders
  • Bequests
  • Non-city Holdings
